NUS climbs to Top 20 of global university rankings

The National University of Singapore (NUS) has for the first time ranked as one of the world’s top 20 universities. NUS ranks number 19 in the latest Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings. Previously it was ranked 24th. This makes NUS higher ranked than other prestigious universities such as Johns Hopkins University and Cornell University.

Singapore Management University (SMU) adds another sustainable building to its campus

Singapore Management University (SMU) recently launched a new seven-storey multi-use building that adds over 12,700 square metres of teaching, learning, research and faculty space to its footprint. Mass Engineered Timber (MET) with modular steel structures was used to lower the carbon footprint of the building. The building also boasts significant energy reduction through multiple ‘green’ features, including a rooftop solar farm to harness renewable energy. In addition SMU is now the largest solar power plant in Singapore’s city centre.
