NTUC LearningHub & Professional Convention Management Association Partner to Introduce New Training Programmes to Uplift Singapore MICE Sector

| | |

Training News Singapore: NTUC LearningHub (NTUC LHUB) and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) have formed a two-year strategic partnership in Singapore, starting in June 2023. The partnership aims to provide internationally recognized training programmes for event professionals in Singapore’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. The announcement was made at the “The Future of Work: Impact of AI on the Workforce” event organized by PCMA.

Courses to Support Event Professionals

To kickstart the partnership, two new courses will be introduced:

1. Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification course: This course will help event professionals update their digital event delivery models and learn effective techniques for designing, delivering, and measuring interactive online gatherings. The course will cover innovative hybrid experiences like the metaverse in digital event production.

2. Technical Meeting & Event Production (TMEP) certificate course: This course will focus on the technical aspects of event production, including audio-visual and lighting elements, managing in-person and remote speakers, venue selection, and technical requirements for hybrid events.

Contextualized Training and Certification

The training programmes will be contextualized to suit the needs of Singapore’s MICE industry. The courses will be delivered physically, allowing effective training facilitation and networking among event professionals. The curriculum will include relevant case studies and examples provided by local experts. NTUC LHUB will serve as the program manager, while PCMA will issue the internationally recognized certifications.

Benefits for Event Professionals and Singapore’s MICE Industry

Event professionals who complete the DES certification course will be certified as Digital Event Strategists by PCMA for two years. Recertification will require ten hours of continuing education. Completing the TMEP certificate course will also meet the DES recertification requirements. The partnership aims to empower event professionals with industry best practices and enhance their career prospects and employability. Additionally, it will contribute to the transformation of the events experience in Singapore’s MICE industry.
